Apocalypse (En Sabah Nur) is a fictional supervillain in the Marvel Comics Universe. One of the foremost and most powerful enemies of the superhero group the X-Men, he first fully appeared in X-Factor #6 (June 1986), created by Jackson Guice and Louise Simonson. Apocalypse has a longstanding association with many X-Men characters, and has played vital roles in 1990s-era event storylines The Age of Apocalypse and The Twelve. He is believed to be the earliest known mutant, although some argue that (Selene) is the first mutant as she was born in mid-30th century BC Egypt.
